Using nature videos from the beautiful and scenic countryside of Japan, I hope to continue to compose music for meditation, relaxation, soothing sleep, stress relief and ultimately a profound sense of healing at the cellular level. Relaxing music, ambient music (new age music) combined with nature videos and photos are designed to relieve stress, facilitate a more soothing sleep and be used to access deeper levels of meditation. Practitioners of reiki, yoga, tai chi, qigong and other disciplines may find this soothing music useful for more profound levels of relaxation and a more calming effect to benefit the healing process. The slow music (slow tempo) in relationship with the natural scenic beauty of Japan can be very spiritual. Un pseudonyme porté comme un gant par ce Rasta d’origine martiniquaise dont l’art regroupe toutes ces disciplines. Bien que né en Martinique, c’est en Guadeloupe que le jeune Dominique grandit et d’imprègne des différentes traditions musicales caribéennes. Il commence à toucher aux percussions à l’adolescence mais c’est à travers l’artisanat qu’il s’exprime le plus à cette époque en créant avec deux amis d’enfance de nouveaux concepts à base de calebasse, bambou et noix de coco qu’ils exposent à travers toute la Guadeloupe. Ce n’est qu’en rentrant en Martinique en 1988, qu’il se plonge plus sérieusement dans la musique. C’est l’époque des premiers sound-systems et des débuts du ragamuffin. Un ami lui apporte un micro un jour et c’est le déclic. King Kalabash arrive comme un ovni en prenant délibérément le parti de chanter et d’insuffler une vibe plus roots dans cette scène émergente peuplée de toasters… C’est en 1992 qu’il rencontre Baron Black et que commence l’aventure Big Famili. Avec des textes en créole, français et anglais, le duo se fait une place sur la scène locale avant de s’installer en France en 1999 où ils montent ensemble le label Black House Music. 20 ans de complicité, de musique, de sound-systems et de concerts à travers la France, l’Europe et les Antilles ont fait de Big Famili une référence dans le paysage reggae francophone. Après Poutchi riddim, Bokodji riddim et l’album Ras’In, le premier album solo de Baron Black, Tradisyon Mwen sort en 2011, ouvrant logiquement la voix à celui de King Kalabash… A l’image des jamaïcains, l’artiste est extrêmement productif. Bien qu’il n’ait jamais encore sorti de projet en son nom, on le retrouve régulièrement sur des compils, seul ou en featuring. Alors qu’il aurait été facile de réunir ces titres jamais sortis, il a tenu à écrire un album inédit et d’actualité. Après plus de 20 ans de carrière en groupe, c’est donc à 50 ans que King Kalabash se décide à nous dévoiler un peu de son univers dans un opus résolument reggae dans le fond comme dans la forme. Produit entre la France, la République Tchèque et la Jamaïque, il proposera une série de morceaux en miroir avec l’artiste, comme autant de témoins de ses capacités, de son vécu et de ce qu’il souhaite transmettre au monde.
